1982 d. Weight issue

#1 Unread post by CBcustom »

Hello folks I am fairly new here first time I've ever written on this form , name is Charlie retired just recently started collecting pennies to past my time . It's been about three years now and I really gotten carried away , with my Lincoln's

I apologize but I don't have a picture for you to see . So if you can take my word for it, it's a1982 d L/D zincs 3.15 gr. The reason I know it's zinc is because of a crack that starts at K 11 through letter D diagonal through Lincoln's head through and out his mouth . Crack is about 90% open hairline to opposite rim at about K5 .
Never was able to find what the tolerance is supposed to be on a zinc penny , anyone know what that is ?

Also any and all thoughts would be welcome

CB

Hopefully you are able to upload some images.....
I'd really like to see what you have

"1982 d L/D zincs" mint weight is 2.5000g
So I really need to see what you are calling a "Crack"

As tolerances go,..... I think Daniel has a table for that?

Here is an overall chart from coop @ coincommunity.com, but I don't see the tolerances for Zincolns on it.

However, from: www.lincolncentsonline.com
The tolerance for the Copper cents is 0.13 grams and 0.10 grams for the Copper plated Zinc cents.

It's a large date so this is normal. Penny is stained as well.
