1962 Lincoln penny / 1962 mexican peso

#1 Unread post by Tatum »

Very interesting I do believe. This seems to me to be a1962 Lincoln penny with a 1962 mexican peso on the front and back. Any thoughts on this coin. Oh my name is Tatum Gary, and I'm from Eupora, MS.

Welcome!

Since there are/were no Mexican Pesos at the mint and nothing in the minting process would do this to a coin, this is post mint damage. If that is the impression of a Mexican Peso (hard to tell for sure in the pics - but just looks like damage to me plus pareidolia), it would likely believe someone put the cent between two Peso coins and squeezed it in a vice.

Your coin is damaged and not over-struck with any other coin.
