Lincoln penny stamped over with wheat symbols

#1 Unread post by pabettie »

Hi, I am pabettie. Can You help... I found a Lincoln penny coin in my change & stamped all around the coin is the wheat symbols . It’s covering most of the writings on the coin. It’s even stamped at the date of the coin so I don’t know what date it is. Also there is a circle around Lincoln & also on the back in the same place.

More than likely someone took a wheat penny , laid it on top of yours and hit it with a hammer (or squeezed in a vice). But as has been said...we need pics to help :)

Here you go:
post_Pics_1.jpg
post_Pics_2.jpg
post_Pics_3.jpg
After this a window opens on your computer allowing you to browse your machine, find the picture file, and then choose to upload it.
post_Pics_4.jpg
Hit the preview button to check it looks as you wish, then edit or hit submit.

[please try to get larger pics of the coin itself. This does appear to be damage from what can be seen in the small pic.

Only one picture is showing. It says two others are not there.

Try to get a pic of the coin and not so much background or surrounding area. until we can see clear pics showing the details of the coin, none of us here can help.

The coin is post mint damaged and not struck over or a mint error.
