Panama Pill

#1 Unread post by DSCoins »

I bought this coin some where around 2013. I bought it only because I thought it was just a neat looking coin. Now that I can finally get back into coin roll searching and buying coins I find interesting. I bought this one for 3.00 dollars (he had it listed for 7.00 dollars). The person I normally go to get supplies from and every now and then I will see an interesting coin (to me) he will give me a good discount on the coins. Buying all my supplies I need from him helps. I guess the going out to buy them is going to have to wait. I will also post the grid (they are 5x5mm with out magnification) so that you can more accurately tell the size of the coin. It is a Panama "Panama Pill" 1979 Proof. Sorry for the images, kind of hard to get a good photo with the size and being in a 2x2.

Darn. I can't see how this coin can be confused with a dime. Just looking at the coin with no magnification it easily fits into 4 5x5mm grid with space left over. When I put on top of a dime, it doesn't even come close to the outer details. Receiving that coin in change mistaken as a dime just goes to prove that people really don't look at their coins (change), unlike allot of us here who always check their change. It was great that you got this coin as a dime in change, and then turned into nice little profit.
