Uncirculated mint sets

#1 Unread post by DSCoins »

I have heard on various channels on YouTub to look through your uncirculated mint sets to get higher graded coins. If am correct the uncirculated mint sets have a Matte finish (hope I got that right). If this is true, than how would TPG's justify grading them as regular strike coin? But then again I guess that the TPGs can grade it under any strike they wish regular strike, proof ETC, and us collectors or those running business have to suck it up and except the word of the almighty coin gods (TPGs).

Matte finish coins started in 2005 so coins before that in mint sets are business strike and the TPGS know which are matte and which are not. Sounds like a miscommunication thing.

Thanks Daniel. Your correct it was a miscommunication thing. Are they still using the Matte finish for the Uncirculated Mint Sets?
Thanks again,
