wheats worth more than ones without that grade distinction? Seriously. Is it like a fine wine, better with age?

Of course...
"RD" designates RED
"RB" designates RED BROWN

High grade coins that are closer to the original RED in color just after minting, will command a higher premium.
Why? ........ because there are so few of them, i.e. "Population Count"
