This stinks

#1 Unread post by DSCoins »

While sorting the latest box of pennies I just finished up looking for wheat cents and was sorting them by decade, I came across a 1988 Wide AM. Now the part of this that really stinks, you can just barely make out date because of that darn green guck that Lincoln cents are well known for getting. Thus I have nice known variety that in the end is really only worth 1 cent. OH well. If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. I am not going to post photo, as for some reason it makes it only worse.

:swear

This might make you feel better. happydance: ... Or not?

All 1988's have a wide A M.
It is the shape and position of the designers initials (G) on the RDV-006 that is the bugger to find. A few reverse dies intended to be used in 1989 were used early, in the production of a small portion of 1988 Lincoln cents.

Unfortunately, many sites confuse everyone by mentioning it has a wide A M.
