1996P Ear

#1 Unread post by DSCoins »

This coin may be one of those coins that you find, that just looks like something is not right. Looking at the bottom of the ear it looks like there may be some doubling. Along with the bottom of the ear the whole ear just looks off. It could just be I want to see something there, when it really isn't. Yes I checked copper coins, Wexler's, Variety Vista and The Lincoln Cent Resource.

These first two photos are of the whole coin.

As always I look ford to seeing all opinion both good or bad.

Thanks Paul. That is very, very possible and will put to bed with just that. "Well-placed contact mark"

I'm with Paul. PMD. The "staightness" of the lines is what did it for me.

Have you tried to do overlays yet for your images. It comes in handy in so many ways. From confirming MM placement for variety confirmation, to confirming the actual profile of a device in this case, to figuring out what parts of a clash might be present.
I haven't even attempted yet but a lot of people use it regularly with satisfying results.
