Did he have it labeled as such? I don't think he would sell a $2,500,00.00 coin for $1,500.00.
I'm going to say it has Arabic numerals, not roman numerals.
Here is a LINK to a page on this site with info. Coin Help St. Gaudens Link .

Beautiful series though.

It's a 1907 $20 Saint Gaudens. Only type that matters the most is the wire rim and this coin is not.

How does edge lettering looks like on these coins?
How many stars and lines do they have?

That seems like a very good deal on that coin. Now not wanting to see alarming, but only for your own protection if I were you I would purchase yourself an electronic gold tester. There are some that are fairly reasonibly priced and if you make a couple of hundred dollar investment and it saves you from sepnding 1500$ it paid for itself many times over. Also, another tip is to get some magnets, rare earth magnets are small and powerful these days and a quick check of a coin or piece of gold, silver or other precious metal again could prove beneficial. But the tester is would be the best. Right now on eBay, there has be a rise of illegal sales of fake gold and silver in many forms and shapes. I would be very leary of someone selling at spot or just above. The price can change so fast. Some sell at what they bought it for and another sell at what it will take to replace it, the latter being the norm. Be sure to take a scale and know the weights if you are buying a coin. Size as well. Just stuff to think about. Your seller may be on the up and up, but if that coin is supposed to be 99.99999...% gold and it weighs light or you test it and it is 18 ct and not 24 ct you may want to steer clear of him.

Thanks , It’s a genuine coin , the seller has a device for testing them
Now the :
***E*|PLURIBUS|*UNUM*** is normal on all of them?!
