I saw this 1933d Lincoln cent reverse last week and thought of a class 6 doubled die because of the distended O of ONE and thickness on PLUR. The O is well defined inside and out. The thickness on the PLUR is lite.
If it was an early die state example showing this thickness wouldn't really have a question.
Can class 6 doubling be this extreme and localized like this?
(Not mine BTW.)
As always thanks for any help and info.

Re: 1933d Lincoln cent Class 6 DDR or die deterioration?
I see a bit of mechanical doubling, and some pretty heavy polishing on the reverse,...
Of course I would need to look at this in person to give you a 100% here...
But this does not look like class VI doubling to me...JMO
:eureka: info

Re: 1933d Lincoln cent Class 6 DDR or die deterioration?
Thanks Paul and I'd gladly send it but I didn't win it. I guess it will remain a mystery unless it ends up getting attributed by others.
I guess I was thinking of the class 6 where just the tail of the 9 (or something similar) is thick like your example above but other devices are not.
The thickness does seem to radiate out from the center towards the rim.
