Grading Opinions on Lincoln Cents

#1 Unread post by John201691 »

Hey guys, just looking to see if anyone can give me some grading opinions on a couple of Lincoln cents i have, Although they are somewhat newer i think that finding them in circulation in the condition they are in is pretty neat and i would love to hear some opinions.

1999 Lincoln Cent

2004 Lincoln Cent
2004LC (1).JPG
2004LC (2).JPG

1994-D Lincoln Cent
On this one can anyone tell me what would cause the "OF" "IDUS" and "M" to be faded the way it is?
It looks to me like it may have been struck through grease possibly? and if the line between "N" and "T" would be a die crack?

2006 Lincoln Cent

If you notice anything out of the ordinary that i may not have noticed please feel free to point it out

These are your average almost circulated examples that you will often find if you look through change enough. Die cracks and struck through grease very common and don't add value or much interest to a coin.

Agree with Daniel.
They do stand out when looking through pocket change, but unfortunately they are actually normal AU coins.

BTW- Any time you get those spots on a coin the more the grade drops c=because it looses that "eye appeal" to most serious collectors.

I'm curious what is keeping the 2nd coin (2004P) from making MS60 at least? Sure looks close to me, but I'm here to learn so umm..would someone point out where the wear or surface damage is on it? What is the story behind the striations on it? Is that from the planchet itself?

The thing is you posted several coins in one topic and this distracts from each coin and you found all these coins in circulation so the odds they have no wear are slim despite their appearance. Also you need them to grade at least MS67 and they will not. I would continue looking and post your finds. I would look though bank and mint rolls as well.

Maybe the 2004 would make ms62, but you mentioned pulling them from circulation.
(There might be some slight wear on the obverse high points or it's possible it is light reflection.)
