2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). I have some questions about a 1982 Lincoln/Kennedy Cent
I recently acquired a 1982 one cent coin that has a small Kennedy head facing Lincoln, I did my research and discovered that it is actually just a fake promotional coin created to enhance and spread conspiracy theories in relation to suspected parallels concerning both of their lives and deaths. My questions': where are these minted and are they made from the same alloys as a regular Lincoln Cent from that year? This one weighs 2.8g and appears the same except for one thing, the reverse looks like it was melted in acid on one side and I've not been able to find any damage/error that comes close to this. I'll attach some pics and really appreciate any feedback because although the coin has no numismatic value it is interesting...

Normal coins and the reverse looks like this from the pressure of the Kennedy stamp, it displaced the metal and smashed against the hard surface it was on.

Thanks that's pretty cool, I noticed people are getting around five bucks for one but I couldn't find the 1982 either for sale or sold on eBay. I'll put it with the military payment coupons I have no idea what to do with other than save for a different day.

So this is post mint damage then? I'm assuming the mint didn't add the Kennedy head during regular striking.

Yes it is PMD, the US mint has never counterstamped a coin as part of the minting process or on accident.

Ah, ok that's what I thought. It seems like it would've been illegal to do this to U.S. currency
