2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.

6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. Re: CONTEST! - Win a free graded coin!
Well, with that last entry, I'll have to concede a winner has claimed the prize. Congratulations, Paul on getting all 30 points!
Just a small tidbit on question #5. Felix was a drifter going from job to job throughout his life. Because his father was a sculptor, Felix went to college to study as a youth. After a year of college, he was drafted into the German army. Shortly after being in the army, he received an award for a fountain he had designed and built while in college. Because he had received payment for something he did prior to the army, I also claim that his "first job" was sculptor. (Based on his biography.)

thx c, i actually "LEARNED" something from this contest....which i think this why d has this site setup for,'learning'....
i 'did know' most of the info in the questions, but not about "nickels"...as i don't "collect" them (i do have the major vars though), & i'm not a 'nickel know-it-all',..... like that he was a 'sculptor', & that '66 was the exact 'year' for the d.i.1 'FS' put on the design.
there was alot more info i could have posted for each question, but kept it to what i thought was the 'key info'.....
1. DESIGNERS INITIALS
:eureka:
some more nik tidbits:

Re: CONTEST! - Win a free graded coin! : CLOSED
Great info!
I learned as well...
For instance, FS was not on the original design because Felix Schlag did not know he was allowed to put them on the contest design.
It was the numismatic groups discovering that Felix was still alive and desiring to honor him that resulted in pressure to finally put his initials on the nickel.
Thanks for all the participation! Makes contests much more fun.
