3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.

4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.

5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.

6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.

7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Our community is not a soap box for complaining or drama, so please refrain from doing so here.[/size]

This is an obvious scam, the guy lists many of them (none on currently) Be very careful.

I have some them zinc plated pennies. I also have a copper plated 1943 steel cent. I wish people would learn about coins before they buy.

I didn't think the mint produced such a thing. Looks like it's dipped in mercury.

I agree with you there. The coin is obviously dipped in Mercury.

It's mercury or zinc, and mercury is dangerous to play with.

Yes, but he states that "THE COIN IS NOT PLATED", and "IT LOOKED LIKE THIS WHEN I TOOK IT OUT OF THE MINT SET', and is he wanted to be "honestly dishonest" he could dip it in mercury, and it would not be plated. But you are correct. Mercury is dangerous to play with

If I found a mint set with a coin like this, sealed in the original cello, I would send it to PCGS and let them take out to grade and authenticate it. I would get thousands for this coin, but he settled for $119 and some change.

I hope he told the truth, but the bidder should no better than to take the chance. And we wonder why are economy is in such a shape with people spending money like this on a chance and a dream.
