1990 Cents

#1 Unread post by DSCoins » Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:10 pm

I am posting this here, as at this time I don’t feel it should be posted under the Mint Errors and Varieties Forum and may never fit there. I have noticed while searching my 1990 cents I have discovered a few with the F of the designer’s initials touching the lower part of the memorial. Does this fall within Mint specifications? If not, should it be checked for a die pairing?

Thank As Always for your opinions

No, die wear and such can cause this.

It seems odd you haven't noticed this occurring in other years. May even be an example of a "Trails Die".

Can you post an image of one?

PetesPockete55 no offence intended. As Daniel is calling it Die Wear I'll have to go with that. Unless some else responds (like Paul), asking for a photo. I just don't want to take up to much space on the board.

I'll see if I can find it again, it's some where in my discarded bin (coins I have already checked). I will attempt to go through it tomorrow. Sorry about that. Lesson learned. Always post image or keep coin out long enough until I really know.

DS, no offense taken. Sorry it came across that way.
This is one of those instances where my choice of words could have evidently been chosen better. Not able to visit as much as I'd like with my
remodeling business requiring attention and sometimes I rush a response.

I think you made a great choice with Daniels 40(?) years of experience.
