Sorry, just glue on a coin. See how the lettering is backwards on the one area? Two pennies were glued together and then one was removed. The glue residue retained the design, but backwards. Acetone would likely remove it.

Re: 2024 Greatest Generation Uncirculated $5 Gold possible doubling
I see what you mean about the matte finish being in the shelf like area. Good observation! My guess (please note that word) is that the finish was put on by vapor blasting (if the mint still uses this method), which would therefore cover the entire face of an already minted coin. But I do not know t...

Are the teeners a different obverse die than the 1940s/50s ones? If memory serves, I think I once read the dates of when master dies were changed with Lincoln pennies. I know by looking at a 1968 and then later Lincooln penny OBV you can see an obvious difference. But I don't remember the other one...

How about a twist on this? Here is a fake photographed in sunlight to show how easy these can be, sometimes, to tell they are fake. This is a cast copy as shown by the pitted surface. Muchas arigato amigo! I appreciate the clarification. Boy that y in Sytler sure is a mess! The spelling meant it had to be a vowel (or like a vowel), but I totally missed it could be a y.
