Acetone cannot meddle with the metal of your medal (or coin)! Soak it for a month, in a closed container to prevent evaporation of the acetone, and nothing chemically or physically happens to the metal of the coin. Re: Hello hoping for some feedback on an early IHC

We'll have to agree to disagree, the graders look at coins for seconds and will not note errors or varieties unless you point them out and pay extra for the few seconds it takes to see that the error is there. While their are true grading experts in varieties they are not at TPGs, they are at CONEC...

Fun discussion everyone! The mention of it being a foreign language was a joke, but understanding the cursive was not. For a younger person like me [early 30's], cursive was phased out in school. Some people hoard them oping the US government will lift the ban on melting and selling them for profit. I know it is loophole, but it is actually legal to melt them, and NOT sell the copper. People with forges who want copper to cast various metals in molds sometimes use them for this. Nowadays it ...

This is nothing the hobby would collect/value. Most odd looking coins are just post mint damage. Please see the following info about how coin dies are made. You do not have extra letters, but instead you have die chips that coincidentally look like letters to you. This is called pareidolia.
