Did you weigh it? The real 1812 Sliver Half Dollars are ~13.50 grams (Holed ones weigh less)

That poor thing was holed, cleaned, and possibly plugged above the current hole and redrilled. That's a lot of effort for a fake coin. I think it's real but has had a rough life.

This isn't wear on the obverse . There are actually 6 Varieties for this year , I own 3 of them . You have a Variety 2 - two broken letters( the C and S in CENTS); FS-05-1868-902 .
