Question from a new member...
Hi there, I'm Mark from the Detroit suburbs. I recently decided to go through all my Grandfathers coins and came across one which I have a question about. I'm attaching 4 pics of a 1909 wheat penny with some strange looking damage/imperfection on the rim - it's symmetrical on both sides of the coin....

Cleaning coins devalues them greatly :) It's funny you said that - my dear Mother decided it would really improve my grandfather's wheat penny collection if she went through and 'cleaned' some of them............lucky she only got her hands on ma...

Just came across it for the first time since then........I'm sure it's nothing but a joke, but it looks pretty old to me. 2...

1931-S - finally I found something..........
Not more than 5 mins ago I finally found a penny that I think is worth at least $20.........and one my Mom luckily did not get her toothbrush after! I know the condition of this is not that great, but would there be any rationale to consider getting this either graded and/or 'conserved' by NCG or PC...
