Definitely a Japanese 10 Yen minted under Hirohito.
Not sure of the year. Counting past in Japanese is hard.
Krasue is a good resource for foreign coins. I picked mine up at a bargain store for under $10

Re: Introducing myself as Melody
Just giving everything a cursory look, the two most valuable coins are the 56 Proof and 64 accented hair. The prices listed on the coins are on the high side, IMHO

Re: 1857 Flying Eagle
I don't think I have any.
I saw one at a local auction a couple months back, but they wanted too much for it.
It was the same auction that had fake California Territorial gold that went for around $150

Yeah, it's mine.
Bought it off the same lady I got my Walker set off of...when gold was around $1300/oz
Like I said in earlier post, my lighting setup is suboptimal. It seems to affect autofocus

Coin Collecting Databases
At the beginning of the year, I found this freeware program. It seems to be pretty good once you learn all its eccentricities.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/open-numismat/
Anyone else use it? Can you compare it to the commercial databases out there?

Anyone who has seen "Band of Brothers" should immediately recognize this plane. I dont think they got the invasion stripes quite right in the design.

Keep in mind, that when you get a good enough ...... you can hide "ANYTHING" in a image. This statement both amuses and disheartens me. To me, a photograph shouldn't be "hiding" anything. It should be about producing a true and accurate representation. Yes, you can do all sorts ...

42S Merc--Can U make grade?
I bought this coin a coupla weeks ago. It's in an old ANAICS holder and a lot more heavily toned than the pictures show.
