Re: 1936 Washington Quarter with planchet error or PMD?

I'm thinking it is possibly a planchet error or like Paul said, a possible lamination issue. Either way, I think you are on the right course with your thinking.

Re: 1967 Lincoln Cent 2x struck thru obv./lamination error rev.

I see the possible delamination but it's not struck thru that is post mint damage and why it effected both sides, that doesn't happen during the strike.

Re: 1961 Lincoln Cent planchet "peeling" or just PMD?

I'm going to go with:

There was a foreign substance on the surface that prevented the area underneath from toning....
And now that substance has been removed

Re: 1897 Indian Head 1C Struck-in Retained Wire

Very difficult to tell from the pictures. Is the line going across the Indian's face a raised "strip" along its length, or is it a micro canyon with its sides raised above the coin's surface?

Re: 1897 Indian Head 1C Struck-in Retained Wire

This is scratched, cut marks into the coin and is damage but not a strike through.

Re: 1897 scratched Indian Head w/cut marks vs. 1930-D Cent

Please, one coin per post. Thanks

Coin is not an error, scratches are not errors. People listing coins like this are frauds are have no clue about the minting process at all.

I don't recommend using a microscope and I would only look for known varieties starting out.

Hello and Welcome from A frigid cold New England town ( USA ) . Unfortunately, There isn't always a " Blakesley" effect . Can we see side shots of the area in question. This would help . Also , a better pic just opposite the supposedly clips would help.http://www.error-ref.com
