Disclaimer: This is just a guide to give you an idea of what your coin might grade. Often coins will grade higher on one side vs. the other. In example, it's possible for a coin to grade G4 on its obverse, but grade VG8 on its reverse. Also, this guide is not a claim that one's coin will obtain any grade listed if submitted to a third party grading service.
When grading coins there's three sides to grade, obverse, reverse and rim, and in that order. Most collectors, graders and dealers consider the obverse first but the reverse has something to say for the grade as well. The rim, not so much, but gouges or heavy marks on the rim can cause a coin to loose a point in grade.

So if a coin's obverse appears G6, but obtained a G4 grade, it might be that the reverse's wear is closer to AG3 and off-sets the obverse grade a point. Since grading services don't give G5 grade then the coin was graded G4. If it was resubmitted it might obtain G6 next time, and not all grading services will grade exactly the same.

So consider these facts when looking over these images. These photograde images are just for comparison's sake and not to be used as a definitive guide to any one coin's grade. However, ALL of the coins were professionally graded by PCGS and NGC.
