An original U.S. Silver Mint set with original mint packaging and choice coins will sell often sell for a little more than book value. An unopened set will also bring a higher value but you must be aware that these envelopes can be steamed open then resealed. So find a reputable dealer before paying a permium on unopened sets.

Also you should look for errors and varieties in these mint sets since you can find doubled dies and repunched mint marks. A few of these will increase the value of the coin and even the entire set.
