So I was scanning the ebay listings and I came across a seller that "TONES" silver eagles. He says he DOES NOT USE CHEMICALS and that all of the toning is done "naturally". I saw the video on toned coins but did not get the information I was hoping to get. I understand that this coin is considered "DAMAGED" but... is there any collector value to these coins? They are attractive coins, do they hold any "ART" value? Or is this just a fad? (I intentionally blocked the year on the coin) I did buy one so I am not looking for someone to blame for my decision... just looking for people's opinions, thx!

While it is beautiful, there is no added numismatic value. Like you said - its art.

Ebay sold listings show that these use to bring a premium and that is where you can check. I haven't looked these up in a while.
