1969 s ddd?

#1 Unread post by Arron91 » Tue Jun 30, 2020 8:50 pm

Hello I have a 1969 with machine doubleing and it looks likes it's triple die. In person it looks like the third doubleing is right in between the first two.

The 6 looks doubled unless that's machine doubleing but how can it be machine doubleing when the whole things is flattened I thought it was just one side. But say it is machine doubleing the numbers would be way to big. The rest of the date has split in th numbers but it's hard to see because it lookes like there is a third doubleing sitting in the middle of the first two and is covering the doubleing that u would normally see

This is caused by die deterioration and yes the 6 can look like this with die deterioration, this isn't die doubled at all.

I DO NOT hugeeyes any "Die Doubling" in your images here

I do see what's called 'reflect doubling', which is result of improper lighting
