1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Our community is not a soap box for complaining or drama, so please refrain from doing so here.[/size]

Re: 1965 Quarter DDO CP Guide
Have collected coins for years but not professionally. Just because I enjoy looking for errors. I once had coins certified at the Baltimore Coin Show but that was years ago and they filled out the paperwork. I do not know how to submit a coin.

Well, if you are a "Collector", I would place it in an "airtight", and put it away in a safe place.
If you plan on selling it, you will need to have it certified as a variety, and encapsulated by a TPG.
:eureka:
I've been doing this since 1970, and my views on 'grading' are a bit different.
I have a large number of coins that are not "slabbed", but I know for certain what they are... And I am a "COLLECTOR", so I really don't sell too many coins.
My views on 'paying a fee' for coin encapsulation are:
1. Preservation
2. Authenticity
3. Variety Attribution
4. Proof Designation

NGC and PCGS both require a membership, so in your instance, I would say ANACS... JMO

Re: 1965 Quarter DDO CP Guide
Congratulations.
That is a nice example of the notching (on the top corner of the base of the E) that we look for to confirm a DDO.
Another possibility is to sell to a collector directly that doesn't necessarily need a slab. It could save the finder and collector some $ in slabbing fees.
Or for encapsulation you might have a dealer send it in for you. This might be slightly higher, but sometimes the shops do it to keep customers coming back.
