What's this? Been to Wexlers and Varietyvista but they don't have anything on this anomoly. What would cause this? Is it doubling , cud or what? Take a look at the M. I see no other errors other than a bit of MD around the letters.

It's a plating blister. Basically an air pocket in between the copper plating and planchet and they can appear anywhere and be any shape.
