Re: 1962d Triple Repunched Date..?
I do not hugeeyes a "TDO" here (triple die obverse).
However, I do see surface corrosion.

Re: 1962d Triple Repunched Date..?
Sorry, but I don't see any repunch. I do see that this coin has seen some flat surface contact.
Re: 1962d Triple Repunched Date..?
There is a trident on the rim end of the 2's horizontal bar. That is the only clue (for me) as to the Repunched. But I am viewing the coin in real-time, and lacking professional photography equipment, it's difficult to capture what I/eye see's. Thanks
I have another coin comin'at you in a few minutes...
And again;

Re: 1962d Triple Repunched Date..?
I don't think they repunched dates. The mint repunched mint marks.
So, the coin would have to be a TDO, which should show in other locations on the coin.
Split serifs follow original design. They don't scatter in odd directions.
This is PMD.

Re: 1962d Triple Repunched Date..?
I read somewhere that the Mint did reuse dies from year end by removing the last year's date, (in the fourth digit position only, ie. 61; 2; 3; etc).
I agree that the spikes of the trident don't follow common patterns for split serif's!
I have two mint Mark examples, with multiple splitting, that terminate (or begin) at a given point, reminding me of scallop shells. I'll post them later...

Not for modern coins they didn't. This stopped shortly after the turn of the century. What you're seeing on your coin is post mint damage with corrosion.

I think I hugeeyes what you're looking at. In post #4, it appears that the 2 is doubled.
But when I look at your other images, I have to go with PMD (Post Mint Damage).

Daniel; Do you mean the 21'st century?
I'm not saying that this is a master die issue on my coin, but according to this article they reused some master's for more than a decade, re-engraving the last two digits.
"There were many engraving issues on master dies, which are often confused as hub doubling. (Reused master hubs had to have the last digit or two engraved into the master die.)

An additional example is this doubled forehead, nose, and chin seen on 1946 cents.
There were many other cases of master die doubling, too numerous to demonstrate here, but the most often confused case is in 1972. There were 2 master dies used this year, one showed “doubling” and one did not. Jason Cuvelier’s tutorial on this subject can be seen...

Re: 1962d Triple Repunched Date..?
You're mixing doubled dies and repunched dates and doubled dies should never be mentioned in the same conversation. No repunched date in 1962 your just causing confusion for newbies who read this.
