My names Duncan, based in the UK. This is I assume a 1964 silver dime but the tail of the 6 is completely missing. Has anyone seen this before?

Possibly a plugged die. I can see a trace of the upper arm on the six.
No added value other than being silver.

I an itty bitty part of the '6 tail' also, but I'm going to say it's been "altered".

I agree could have been struck though grease or altered.
