1968 s penny
I was given this 1968 s penny when I broke a dollar and it instantly popped out in my vision because of its shine. Also I thought it was a new penny considering the clarity. It also looks like there is doubling on both sides of the coin. Does anyone else see that? I really am new to collecting coins and I'm open to and help from professionals.

Re: 1968 s penny
it may be possible this coin was "DIPPED" ... ??
.....to give it it's 'WOW' brightness ... ??
i would need to hugeeyes it first hand for a 100% eval.,.... using internet pics for these examples :s
:eureka:
keep in mind, when you hugeeyes 'doubling', it may just be "reflect doubling"or a form of what's known as "mechanical doubling"

What does dipped mean like someone put it in something? Do you think I should have an expert look at it?

"DIPPED" refers to a coin that a coin was 'bathed' in a solution,....to return the 'WOW EYE POP' !
your coin may be a 'PROOF' ?? ... as you say it has a high luster ...
do you hugeeyes any 'split' on the top of the 6 (six) in the date ??

Re: 1968 s penny
Dipped means cleaned or brightened but this coin is original and doesn't look like a doubled die.

Re: 1968 s penny
Do you have an image? It has to match exactly die marker per die marker to be this coin.
