I found this nickel while coin roll hunting.
It has two edges, about halfway around the coin one of the edges sticks out more than the other.
I was just wondering if this is an error coin and if it has any value?
1980P nickel double edge?

Re: 1980P nickel double edge?
The collar die didn't fully engage the rim during the strike or something was wrong with the collar die.

Re: 1980P nickel double edge?
Curious if this type of partial collar strike would have been caused by the planchet resting on part of the upper edge of the collar die and not laying flat against the anvil die as it was struck.
Also, Big M., does the reverse have a convex surface or is it just the lighting making it appear that way in the photo of the reverse?

I agree P, looks like it didn't seat in the die chamber completely but I don't see any striking issues.
