1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Re: Trying to take pics of 1972
Glad to hear that you learned and this coin does look like a DDO despite image issues. Most of these are Master Hub Doubled and worth a few dollars and this looks like it could be the 003 http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate ... _state=mds

Re: Trying to take pics of 1972
Overall, I think your photos are pretty good. You can try moving the light about so that the coin is not over-exposed in areas, but that comes with a little practice. Another thing to try with a digital microscope of this type is to raise it up on a platform. Stack a few books so you raise it about 4-6 higher, then lean it out so it can view straight down. You should be able to get the whole coin then.
Re: Trying to take pics of 1972
Mark, my scope is held in a goose neck stand that has a round, flat base on it that's about 4" or so in diameter. So, are you saying I could raise the scope by setting it on 4-5 books, lean it out a ways, and then I'd be able to get the whole coin, or most of it??
Re: Trying to take pics of 1972
Well, I'm just gonna go ahead and try it. I'll let you know how it works. Thanks.

CHIKA, R U HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THE REPLACEMENT SCOPE?
I THINK THOSE D/L AM3000 SERIES SCOPES HAVE A 'LONGER FOCAL LENGTH' AT LARGER DIAMETERS..?

Re: Trying to take pics of 1972
Hi Pauly -- Yes, I have a lot of trouble getting a full sized coin in view. And a slab is almost impossible to photograph properly. I think you're right about the AM3000 series. But I'm going to try Mark's little trick and see if that helps. I have an appointment this morning so I may not be able to do it until late this afternoon or maybe tonight sometime. I'll let you know.... Or, I'll post a pic! Laters, sweetheart!

This is the FS# 103 or 1972P-1DO-003 CLASS 1 CONECA: 3-O-I-CW | Crawford:CDDO-003 Wexler: WDDO-003
Strong CW rotated hub doubling seen on LIBERTY, IN God WE TRUST, Lincoln's coat and the date. Similar, but not as strong as, die 008.
