From Oklahoma City

Hello to those in this forum. I'm from Oklahoma City and recently inherited a bunch of coins that I know very little about. I have taken some to a local PCSG dear here, and was advised that they had very little value over and above the melt value. Gosh, I just
don't know.

There are nickels, dimes and pennies. What they call "error" coins. There are over 20 old silver dollars, two complete sets of "statehood" quarters, one complete set of Sacawagea dollars, and other misc. Sacawagea dollars including some autographed ones.

Is there anyone in this forum that might be able to help value them?

One last question....is cointracker.com a good site for values? Thanks.

I also have a complete set of statehood quarters that I started collecting a number of years ago. Each year, as they came out, I placed my newly found quarter in it's slot within the book I had for them. I never really looked at the coins other than identifying what state it was and felt good as I filled another hole. It took 10 years to fill that book and when I was nearly done, I found I had missed two earlier states. I had relatives look for those and they actually shipped them to me to finish my book.

I cherish those quarters. Unfortunately, they don't have much value other than sentimental value.
I should go through them and make sure there aren't any unique variety coins hiding in there, but I'd probably damage the book getting them out.

Sounds like you have a mixture of raw and graded coins. The hard part is learning how to photograph them so that we can help. But, there are lots of tips in here and friendly people just waiting to see them.

welcome Chuck, I know somewhat of what you are going through. My wife inherited 25 pre 1900 morgan dollars, some paper money and around 500 wheats. Plus I had a small collection of coins also. When i first joined, i had no way of taking pictures. What i learned is that you will need a good microscope and maybe even one that has a camera. My mistake was that the camera that came with the microscope does not have the ability to take pictures of a whole coin. Lowest magnification is 40x. I would suggest you get one that can go down to at least 10x. Make sure the camera can go that low, not the microscope. I thought my camera could go that low, but found out later that it could not. Anyway, in my opinion, you have chosen a great site here. These guys are very knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. They have really helped me, and sometimes i may be a pain in the rear, but they keep encouraging me to continue. They will help you with whatever you need to know, so don't be afraid to ask.......Myles, lubbock, tx

Greetings! I grew up in Chandler (about 45 min West of you). My coin collection started with some coins I got from my folks after they died.
