1921 Morgan Dollar

Ki ora all

I am new here and newish at collecting coin's, I have an 1921 Morgan silver Dollar and last night my friend starting laughing at it saying it was a backwards coin. I then noticed that the reverse (struck rotated die) i think thats whats its called. I cant find any information on this can anyone help me please thank you

look at your other US coinage...see that they all are like this?...so when you 'flip it over', the reverse is upright correct.

i have a friend that 'searches' the foreign :ebay: sites , as well as a few other 'auction sites' as well............there is 1 guy out there, that for over a year now, has been selling circulated kennedy half's, worth .50¢, advertised as "rare, special, & with a rotated 180° reverse", for $35 - $50 EACH! :s :s :s :s :s
why? :dunno ....because the buyers just do not know any better :confused: = :s

Try googling coin alignment and medal alignment.

The US has typically produced coins with "coin alignment". Such that when the coin is rotated about it's axis vertically, it remains "normal". if rotated about it's axis horizontally, the coin appears "upside down". Grab any coin in your pocket and try it.
