1950 wheat penny

#1 Unread post by Dark Fairy »

I was looking through my coins I had put up and came across a 1950 D Wheat penny but I can't find any info on it. Is this because it isn't worth anything or simply because I am not looking in the right spot?

Also, I have this eisenhower dollar and can't decide what the grade would be. I took the pics but they do not show the silver coloring of the coin because of the low light (had to do it that way to get no glare). It is a bright pretty silver color. Anyway..here ya go. The yellow coloring on the reverse is due to something on it but I am afraid to clean it cause I don't want to ruin it. One other thing (sorry) How should I store these coins? I don't want to do it wrong.

Both the 71 ike and the 50 d penny are very common . Both are very valuable in high mint state (MS) grades. The dollar is only worth a dollar unless it is a double die or has some other defect. The penny is worth at least 5 to 10 times face value , but that is only a nickel or dime. Dan

dipper13 is correct, but I will add, the Ike Dollar is circulated and the yellow on the reverse could be PVC from a plastic holder. You can buy mylar flips, but don't buy vinyl types, from JPsCorner or ebay on the Internet. I choose them to store coins in.

Thanks a bunch! If I don't ask then I can't learn, right? I have always stored coins in those small ziplock baggies simply because they were handy but I will look into the mylar flips. Thanks again!
