1951 S Lincoln Ghost Date Error?? Or just worn out

#1 Unread post by rickyvee1969 »

Greetings fellow coin geeks lol. I am looking for an opinion for a Lincoln one cent coin that I came across recently that appears to have an anomaly on the date where (A) the 1951 is missing the number one (1) it's either ghosted or just plain worn out. (B) it also appears that the L in Liberty looks more like an I rather than an L. Again, it's either an anomaly or an error or just plain worn out from being in circulation. I'm just curious if this coin is worth sending off to have it graded. My guess that it's probably not worth the effort. Just another spendable one cent coin. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Seem to be grease involved. I do not see an error or variety.

Grading companies are not about this. See the PM I sent you to understand how not to lose money using grading companies. So many people do lose money from misunderstanding what they are and do.
Common grading company shortcomings & resulting co$tly mi$take$ to collectors (using Kennedy No FG halves):
