I got this dollar back as change and noticed right away that it felt thinker then a typical dollar. I was looking up how much a dollar should weigh (1 gram) and this particular dollar weighs 1.3g, the dollar bill feels thicker as well
I tried to find info on why this is but had no luck. Any thoughts to why it weighs more then a gram and why it feels thicker then a normal dollar bill.
2017 $1 why does it weigh more than 1g and why does the dollar feel thicker

Re: 2017 $1 why does it weigh more than 1g and why does the dollar feel thicker
All I can keep coming up with is No matter the denomination, a banknote weighs approximately 1 gram. Because there are 454 grams in one pound, this means there are 454 notes in one pound of currency.cornelius_spoon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 12:06 am I got this dollar back as change and noticed right away that it felt thinker then a typical dollar. I tried to find info on why this is but had no luck. Any thoughts to why it weighs more then a gram and why it feels thicker then a normal dollar bill.
So with that you should be able to demand $1.30 from your note.
Sorry I couldn't help it.

It's just a normal Bank note. Weights will sometimes fluctuate.
