1979 Lincoln penny - odd surfaces - struck through cloth?

#1 Unread post by JoeL19 »

1979 Lincoln penny, weighs 3gm's. Has a weird textured look on front & back.
Has it been struck through a cloth? (Been told it has & hasn't just wanted a 3rd opinion)
Is it worth anything?

Please see the PM I sent and why I fixed your title for you.

Someone gave this penny a short bath in concentrated nitric acid. I used to do this all the time to show my Chemistry class students how nitric acid reacts violently with metals.
