192? liberty quarter weight 5.8 grams and looks like the rim is tall
Hello all,
First time user and I'm hoping that you all can help me. I have a Standing Liberty Quarter that looks like what I understand to be a Capped die/Brokage? It has a date of 192? something, either 8 or 9. I stands about 3/16 on the rim, and is slightly larger than a penny in diameter. Weighs about 5.8/5.9 ... the lettering of United states of america and quarter dollar goes around the inside of the rim, no mint mark that I could see, and not very detailed. Not sure if this may be fake or if is the real deal. Not even sure what it may be worth.. Please help. :)

It's a failed coin ring and is damaged, worth silver melt only.

This can easily be done using a common spoon , hence the term "spooned Coin" or a small hammer lightly tapping the rim .

A spoon coin, man the human capacity for weirdness, and alleviating boredom.

Sad it was a full date SLQ :(
Common grading company shortcomings & resulting co$tly mi$take$ to collectors (using Kennedy No FG halves):
