1880 Vam 13 Proof Morgan looking for opinions on this coin

Your images are taken at an angle and hard to see the details of the coin but this does not look like a match for a proof. The strike nor finish doesn't look proof either. Proof were struck by their own die pair and struck multiple times. I don't see this on your coin.

i spent $800 on this coin are you sure its not a proof what are you seeing that im not it has all the die markers of the vam 13 that is a proof only issue what else should i be looking for ? ill try to take better pictures

now looking at the first pics i can see why Daniel thought it wasnt a proof they were not very clear thats my fault i was trying to show off the tone and they turned out too blurry

Where are the die marks for a VAM13 on you coin?

main die marker is A single vertical die scratch on the neck at the edge of the lower hair i need to wait tell i have a better cam later on to take a picture of it

It must match them all, since regular coins can have similar die marks

It must match all and exactly not just a couple, pl business strikes can have similar die marks.

The Reverse die can be identified by two bulges on the D of DOLLAR and a nearly vertical die scratch above the eagle's right foot. This same die was used for proof coinage for all 1879 and 1880 Morgans. A useful marker to identify circulated proofs. This reverse die has never been confirmed on any business strike for the three years it was in service.

vam 13 was wrote on the label when i bought it but i just bought it as a proof coin not sure if the dealer attributed it or if he bought it like that from looking on vam world it seems to be the Vam 13 but im not 100%

Hum... I would send it off and have it graded. A proof should not be raw and sold since most have no idea how to ID die marks, and that goes for many dealers.
