2019 Nose tip and chin damage from uncirc. loomis roll

#1 Unread post by bigbird »

Hi. We finally found our first 2019 penny. Actually a whole loomis roll. This coin has a clipped nose on its nose tip, and groove in front with groove in chin. More then likely PMD, but unsure how it may have happened as to me roll wrapping is questionable but i guess maybe??? Any other scenarios?? Appears to have no reverse damage. We have named it the sneezing lincoln just for fun.

Looking at your images here, what I hugeeyes is called "post strike damage", and I don't believe this is from a 'roll crimping machine'...JMO

Ok. Thanks PAHL1. Sure wish these new coins were made much better. Extremely hard to find one in ms70 or even 69, even in a mint set because of the over all quality and the wash being used. So sad.
