Error or fake???
Hello people
I bought a 1909 S mint Lincoln penny with a supposed error on the reverse, the reverse depicts the oak wreath of the previous Indian head coin instead of the wheat.
So basically, it's a coin with Lincoln on the obverse and oak wreath on the reverse!
Is it real?

I'm not aware of any such coin,... :dunno
You will need to take it out of the "flip" and inspect the outer edges of the rim.

Re: Error or fake???
:dunno I'm suspecting that 2 coins were used to make this example.
I have never heard of, or seen a coin before that had "2 mint marks".

Re: Error or fake???
This coin is a fantasy fake coin. It is not real. It doesn't even have the same strike of an authentic 1909 S and appears to be cast.

Re: Error or fake???
Its a very cool fantasy coin. Never seen one in this small of denomination. Have seen several different dollar coins though. Did you pay $4.00 or $400? Your post was a little vague. I know I would gladly pay $4.00 for a novelty like this (we all have spent more on worse).
Re: Error or fake???
Darn! The seller took me for a ride!
Could someone show me the same fantasy coin? (still in shock).
that's FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS @bigphish68.

Re: Error or fake???
I don't have an image but if you just posted the obverse it is obviously a fake let alone muling it with a wreath reverse. Aliexpress has many fake 1909 s cents.

Re: Error or fake???
I meant I don't have an image of another. I saw your image and it is not authentic.
Re: Error or fake???
I couldn't find another example either, kind of intriguing, thanks for your help and time.

Re: Error or fake???
:eureka:
I'm not liking the "S" for the mint marks either. They just don't look genuine to me in these images.
... I have never heard of or seen a 'MULE', for the 1909 either.
I'm sorry you got hoodwinked :s
That's why it's always best to ask us 1st.

Ouch!
On Ebay you have some protection and should be able to return it if you got it there.
