66 Qtr What happened to it??

Found this quarter while getting change machine at the carwash. Why is it like that.

Someone pried and cut part of the clad layer off and since it has been worn by circulation.

Daniel, any chance this could be a lamination or partial "clamshell"? (I've not seen any on clad coinage myself.)
I'm wondering because the edges look rounded as opposed to ragged and "torn" and the rim in that area doesn't show any signs of damage from prying that I can see?

IMO circulation wear wore down the edges, but this is not a lamination and a clam shell doesn't happen in a triangle shape.
