1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Greetings
Dave here,
gotcoins: I'm new to coin collecting. gotcoins: My dad tried to get me excited about Wheat Pennies when I was a kid but I wasn't having it at the time. After my folks passed, we found a bunch of old coins in their things. The wheats didn't surprise me, nor the silver dimes (although I was surprised there was over 150 of them!), quarters and halves. I was quite surprised, however, by the Morgan and Peace dollars and all the foreign coins we found along with tax tokens and other stuff. See a couple of cool examples below. Now I'm organizing these into the beginnings of a nice collection and trying to get my kiddos excited about coins.
Currently I'm working on the Lincoln Cents. My kids each have folders for 1941-current and I have 1909-1940. I also have a folder for silver Roosevelt dimes (which is about half full!). The kiddos are also working on state and nat'l park quarters.
So far we're having lots of fun and I'm enjoying the opportunity to help my kids learn about and be excited about history. They enjoy telling folks about their 1943 steel pennies and looking for all the different reverse designs for the 2009 anniversary Lincoln cents.
Anywho, happy to be here and looking forward to learning more about coinage in this forum!!

Re: Greetings
Thanks for sharing your story and welcome to the forum. I wouldn't change a thing about that Morgan Dollar either.

I have dove from Florida to Alaska and several points between, in salt and fresh water. Some of my favorites would be drift-diving off of West Palm Beach (lazy-man's diving!), wreck diving anywhere but also the extreme levels of biodiversity you find in cold water diving in Alaska. My neck is very red and I love it all!

Yeah, the Cenotes are very cool. It's just that whole cave thing I don't care for. hugeeyesPALH1 wrote:if you have the opportunity 2?....Scubaredneck wrote:Pete,PetesPockets55 wrote::thumbsup: Welcome and nice to share the time with your kids. Glad to hear they are enjoying it also.
