2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. Hello and Welcome ! What do you want to know ? It appears to be a 1909S VDB Cent . Where did you get it ? Have you had it authenticated ? What else can you tell us about this coin ?

Yeah, that's a coin worth the time and money to have graded.. Beautiful example and as far as I can tell from the pics 100% real... Probably worth $1k or more once certified/authenticated...

I can't tell based on these images. Look for a dot in the upper loop, inside of the S.

Re: New member from AZ and a 1909-S V.D.B. ??
Waiting for a clearer picture on the date and mint mark (and the VDB if possible).
Preliminary pics suggest not wasting money on a grading company. I do not believe its real, but is the good fake that crops up every once in awhile. But definitely need clearer pics to tell. However, the wrong alignment of the S is pretty hard to doubt even with fuzzy pics.
From what is already posted:
First pic are the die varieties for the 1909-S VDB mint mark position/placement/orientation.
Second pic describes how the present pics of the OPs coin do not line up with any of them. Also note your MM has its bottom srif all wrong (large and angled).
The OPs coin also appears to have the wrong B in VDB - see the bottom of the first pic.
Original pic (compiled from PCGS website pictures) by Coop on coincommunity.com:
Save both files to your computer and open them side by side to compare.

Can you take a close photo of the VDB? The middle part of the 'B' should be slanted for a real 1909-S VDBJohn Dunbar wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 8:11 am Just joined this morning after watching COINHELP U YOUTUBE videos all week!
