wrong planchet???
can you tell me if my funny little penny is this a wrong planchet ? and if it is not what in the world is it?

Thank goodness I found it in a coin roll and didn't waste any money! There is something that I don't understand though,the coin is smaller than a penny and thinner than a penny and it has rim marks like a dime maybe I'm a little slow but you did say all questions welcome and Oh boy do I have alot of questions.LOL Thank you for the great work you're doing by the way

The coin has been cut so it's going to be smaller and will appear thinner than a cent because it was cut.

I totally agree with Daniel.
The rim effect is from the shears used. Some of them have lines on them to aid in cutting.
Sometimes people do this to cents to cheat and use in vending machines in place of dimes.
