Howdy, and welcome!

You mention several coins and posted only the 72 cent. So, let me recommend here that you create separate threads for each coin so that we don't confuse which coin we are discussing.
This 72 cent has a lot of hard contact marks and is discolored on the reverse from environmental damage (such as being in a cup holder for a period of time.) None of this occurred while being made at the mint, so is considered post-mint damage. The coin is worth face value.

I agree with Mark, the coin is badly scarred and gouged so worth face value.

I agree with Mark also. He hit the bulls eye.

Well done getting the image posted. Posting an image of the back would be helpful.
This would appear to be intentional damage to the coin after it left the mint. On the reverse side of the coin you will probably see little bumps directly opposite the triangular holes on the obverse.
(ps. Is the 1981 Lincoln cent a proof coin?)
