Hello!! I'm new at coin collecting.

#1 Unread post by Showell2015 »

Hey, my name is Shelby Howell I am 26, and I was born and raised in Rosepine, Louisiana! I have 2 amazing children and a wonderful husband! We are new to coin collecting and we don't really know what we are doing or even what we are looking for. I have downloaded books and looked up countless websites to try to find dates and errors. We have found a couple coins that we aren't sure about but mainly nothing! If anyone has and tips or ticks please share!!! I found a quarter(2005 West Virginia) the other day in some change i received in the store. It's very dark, is there something wrong with it?

Welcome to the forum and collecting. It looks like your quarter is toned and sometimes they do this is they're in a cup holder for a while.

Here's a couple books I recommend to help get you started and I wish you great finds and hope to see them here.

Welcome and enjoy the search. Great to hear about family time.
Your kids will probably be interested in what you are if they are young enough. It can be a source of fun for the whole family.
