I would consider this coin to be harshly cleaned. Obverse is scratched across main device. Possible, previously corroded.

If genuine, this coin can still fetch a nice little sum of money. But, I'm not good at that "genuine" call on this state of a coin.

I'm going to let Daniel pipe in first. He has a lot more experience on making that "genuine"call. If not genuine, then it's worthless.
My concern are the areas, both obverse and reverse, that look like prior corrosion. They may be indications that this was cast.

It is a counterfeit coin. I am 100% positive and this is what most Chinese counterfeits look like so it is worthless. Here's a link to help your more. http://coinauctionshelp.com/identify_fa ... llars.html

I didn't offer you an opinion I gave you the facts. I've been in this all my life, trust me, the coin is 100% fake.

I guess I could go on about some details. The US Mint has never used this letter or number font on any US Coin in the history of the US Mint. You can look at the edge and see if it was cast or not but it's made of a pot-white metal. See if it sticks to a magnet.

Here's an image and they all have the same font and design and my images

proves there's a difference.
