1907 Penny with what appears to be an "S" , is this even possible?

#1 Unread post by trent.standing-rock »

Hi, my name is Trent i'm not really a collector and havejust begun taking an interest in old coins less than a year ago. Very recently a friend of mine gave me some old coins he'd come across. In looking at them i noticed what appeared to be an upside down "s" under the N on the reverse side. I looked under numerous websites and couldnt find any error coins or dates that show this particular error but happened across this site and figured I'd post it here for the blazes of it. I believe i read where mintmarks weren't used until 1908?? Anyway please tell me what, if anything I might have here.
